I think we are all astonished to see Agyemang: 1) stay onside; 2) delicately play around the keeper; 3) put a tight angle shot on target.
He’s shown promising physicality, but little else. I’ve long ago decided he’s a siren on the rocks.

#USMNT need to go all in these last 10 minutes. Don’t fancy Freese in PKs versus Navas.

Perhaps the #USMNT will now be forced to play more aggressively. In prior games, they played so safely as to be practically inert.

It’s easy to think the #USMNT has been the better side because they’ve had 71% possession and #CRC have had so few chances (1 shot on target).
But the truth is the US hasn’t done much either. Having the ball is not the same as doing something with it. Open play hasn’t created much.

Shows what I know:
I complain about the first half xG from open play. #USMNT immediately scores from open play at the start of the second half.
I say Navas > Freese in PKs. Freese stands on his head and is dominant. To be fair, Navas was excellent too.
Let me tell you this: US will bounce out of the semifinals. 😉 🤫

I was wrong about Freese. He was outstanding in PKs, and seemingly was enjoying them!?! Got to be a little crazy to be a goalkeeper and he was the lunatic we needed. PKs are all about pressure and he didn’t seem to feel ~any~.
Might be his moment to fully claim the position? Definitely a confidence builder going forward.
