I also have been thinking about this connection, it is so damn obvious, but no one in the media is talking about it.
The rise of authoritarianism, and the deep connection to the oil industry.
It has been obvious to anyone willing to stop for a moment and think... but #TheAmericanFascist, in his infinite wisdom and/or senility, has thrown down the veil.
#Venezuela is about access to #Oil in South America.
#Greenland is about access to Oil and Minerals in the #Arctic.
#Alberta Separatism is about access to Oil and Gas in #Canada.
Deposing the Iranian Regime is access to Oil and Gas in the Middle East. (Get #Iran, and you might get #Iraq too)
And lets not forget #Russia... fighting the #RussiaUkraineWar funded by their oil reserves and all about returning to an old empire in oil-rich Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
So is the fight to end fossil fuel use in order to preserve a liveable, recognizable planet, also a fight against authoritarianism and fascism?
You're damn right it is.
