okay. took 5 -10 tries but if you accept that's part of Expedition 33 it's not so bad.
I really want a battle restart option though because 1 wrong parry and the battle could easily be over.

Okay y'all. I think I could get most Expedition 33 in normal mode. But I just will not enjoy it. Switched to story mode and I can now progress without failing bosses because of one (or several) wrong dodges.

Xenoblade 2 done! What a convoluted story. Weirdly the ending was more clear cut. The first game's story wasn't too bad but had an extra confusing ending.

Otherwise, I'm open for suggestions as to which mods are crucial to make the AI a little more balanced - I've seen so many Workshop mods that mention some form of a boost to the AI's economy or something... Not sure when it begins though. I just know that WH2 with the Vortex campaign was unplayable with Mazdamundi until I installed a few of those.
