A huge portion of the MAGA authoritarian takeover plot rested on the false assumption that they could provoke a violent domestic conflict at a whim and jump straight to martial law. It seems they believed their own BS about how cities are hotbeds of unrestrained chaos and iT’S tHe LEft tHaT’s REALLY viOLeNT!!1!
They thought they were picking a fistfight. They didn’t expect to just get mocked, shamed, and videoed into social oblivion. They are both reviled and a laughingstock now.
