My car weighs about 2 tons, and yet I recently had a longer ride on the Autobahn where I drove 7.5 km/kWh, which is about 13.3 kWh/100 km. A liter of gas has about 9.5 kWh, a gallon of gas has 33.5 kWh.
So, that's about 156 miles per gallon, for the Americans, or 1.4 l/100km for the Europeans.
