Spotted this tiny praying mantis peeping in our window. I think just under 2 centimeters long. I tried to get my index finger in for scale.

Two extremely fluffy coot chicks, they are mostly grey fluff, with some white fluff on their chests, and yellow/red/white/black beaks and yellow/one head fluff highlights. They're VERY cute. They're swimming in a pond around lily pads.
The same two coots as in the previous pic, together with one of their parents, partially obscured by a flower stem.
A zoom on coot parent feet, which are underwater here and standing on a decking; they're white with black stripes and have quite a lot of area when standing on them.
