I don't entirely understand, but when I went to flatten the other side of my table leaf... it was a lot flatter. I would expect them to be mirror inverses of each other. 🤷‍♂️
Final thickness is between 5/8" and 3/4" which for my purposes is more than adequate. It also means I don't need any hackery to use my 1/2" screws.

First Lego table leaf is built and attached. Mistakes were made (and corrected). It looks ok. The gap (1/4") is a little more than I wanted, but I'll know how to fix that going forward (measure better and build over sized). I am happy that it stands up with just one leaf attached. I was concerned that not having the counter balance of the other leaf would cause it to tip.

Tried to mirror some gate legs for my Lego table and it went very badly. Somehow I managed to use the wrong pieces (swapped horizontal and vertical pieces). I had to completely unscrew it and start again. Fortunately, these won't be highly visible.

Lego table is coming along. The center piece is done. And ready to be finished. I need to make the legs for both sides (4x) and the two leaves.
We have a good idea on the finish. The "walnut" color on the top right is so far the preference.

I wasn't having much luck with my Stanley #4 when flattening this table top. Out of desperation, I grabbed one of my Japanese planes. I've never had much luck with it in the past even though I tried it several times.
Man, that thing ate through the top and flattened it in no time. I hit it with the Stanley for good measure when I was done.
