Oh Fedimind, can anyone recommend a good external IP camera that can be flashed with open source firmware relatively easily (so no soldering!)? I'm replacing a Foscam that requires me to log in to their site to view my camera stream...

Hello Fedi lazyweb.
There will be a solar eclipse on August 12th (only partial in the UK) and I was wondering how to take photos of it.
A quick web search indicates that pointing a camera directly at the sun can be just as quick to burn out digital sensors as it is to burn out human retinas. And I don't want to do either!
I have some ISO-certified eclipse glasses for my eyes, does anyone have any suggestions for how to protect a camera lens (either a physical digital camera or a smartphone camera).
