I've finally bisected my TV problem and indeed, #amdgpu starting to output RGB by default was the cause. Also found out that I can force YUV444 via debugfs, so with some hacking, I can actually use the latest #Linux kernel.

Me: discovering how to set BT.2020 color primaries on #amdgpu via #xrandr.
Also me: realizing there's probably no point in doing that, given that the input material is BT.709.

Uh, #Linux #AMDGPU folks managed it. The 7.2.2 kernel somehow manages to break saturation control on my TV. I mean, the kernel on the connected PC, not the TV. I have no clue how or why it would be able to do that, but the TV is ignoring the saturation slider and running at full saturation, making my eyes bleed.
