If your AirPods Pro 3 case drains battery like crazy: don't waste time tinkering around. This seems to be a known issue at Apple.

Wow, so 1Password has increased its already expensive services. I have only used it for work/volunteer related stuff. I've been using Apple's Keychain and now Passwords App for years.
If you're on a Mac/iOS system and want to switch, 9to5 has a good run down on how to export your 1Password database and bring it into Passwords.

It looks like they have gone to subscription model to access the “Pro” apps (FCP, Motion, Logic, Mainstage, Compressor, Pixelmator)
But the original “iWork" apps are still free. Pages, Keynote, Numbers (and by extension iMovie though it is not included in the "Creator Studio” presumably because it ships with every Mac)
That said... and yes... this is how they get you… the annual subscription for everything is "only” $180/yr or $18/mo plus Family Sharing privleges.
That goes down to $40/yr and $4/mo if you do the Educational license, but no family provisions.

If #Apple does not know how to implement push-based sync (aka automatic sync), which is obvious by now that they do not, at least the apps should provide a “Sync now" action.
I am staring at Journal app on the #macOS #Tahoe and it does not want to sync the latest entry from the iPhone even if that entry was created over 1 hour ago.

For the past years the #Apple app store landing page has constantly been an ad for some mobile game about kings and clans that only existed to get people to pay for in-app purchases.
Now, whenever I open the app store on my phone it's always AI crap: "Learn with ChatGPT". "Do more with Gemini".

Spotlight on my #macos #Tahoe keeps crashing because it encounters some issue inside its index. A central piece of software crashes continuously at its own fault. Great exemple of resiliency in #Apple software.
Fear not. It’s not the only example. @… has a post with reports about Time Machine. That other central piece of macOS software.
Even if these issues are affecting a small number of customers, they reveal a critical lack of quality in the software Apple ships. Unfortunately with very few exceptions, Apple bloggers are afraid to report these issues knowing how vengeful Apple is and they’ll lose access to anything they built over years.

I open Apple Notes to look for my notes earlier today and **surprise**, it is not showing up.
I'm kidding. There is absolutely NO SURPRISE that #Apple does NOT know, they absolutely do NOT know, how to implement push sync.
But we can continue to have huge expectations for #Apple AI.

I've been trying to figure out how to link to #Apple iOS Today list in Reminders.
There is no official information on this.
There are a few SO /SE posts about sometimes working, mostly not, old URLs

I just made a cool shortcut in Apple’s shortcut app on iPad!
When tapped on the Home Screen on an iPad or iPhone or an Apple Watch, it will message two people immediately.
Then it gives a choice of calling an ambulance (911) or not.
There is an “are you sure” before actually calling 911.
If no ambulance is required it sends a message just telling the people help is needed.
If it does call the ambulance it texts the people that too.
…. I have been playing with Apple scripting since old MacOS days. love that it lives on and just gets more powerful with all the apps that we can tap into now.
So easy! And doing things that can truly improve, even save, lives. This is what computers should do.

God I hate how much the 'recent' folder in Apple macOS has screwed up people's knowledge of where files are stored.
Most beginning to intermediate computer users have no idea where their files are, how to find them, or how to organize them.
Also, automatically forcing people to save onto the Cloud rather than their computers in a way that automatically limits their storage capacity and degrades their user experience is wrong.

I need help deciding between
- Evernote
- Keep It
- EagleFiler
It's a very difficult decision to make.
1. I’ve been using and paid for Evernote for years. It is available on all platforms. I am most probably using just a fraction of its features.
2. Keep It: seems to be an #Apple-centric solution. It’s still subscription based and doesn't save me very much compared to Evernote.
3. EagleFiler is #macOS only. Pay-and-own model (love it!)

#Apple has now officially crossed into #enshitification territory.
