I have been occasionally tracking various wildlife finds via the Danish #arter app for a while. I was intrigued to discover that 4 of my recent finds are in fact red listed in Denmark. And what are they? The cuckoo, the coot, the common frog and the lapwing.
They all feel like they should be too common to be red listed...

I grew up in a small village in England and heard cuckoos basically every year I was in primary and walking to school.
But the first time I actually saw one was about 18 years ago and in Denmark. Haven't heard one for years and then all of a sudden this weekend...
