I made bagels today. I used a different recipe and these are huge! 115 grams each, which is a lot more than 100 grams each. (Maths!) Still perfecting the process, still delicious. 🥯

Today was pretty rough but I was able to use the dough that’s been in the fridge for three days. It wasn’t even true focaccia dough but it worked great. Definitely one I’ll try again.

This is my third attempt at bagels. Still getting the hang of it Added an egg wash (so not vegan) and tried various toppings (sesame seed, salt, cheese) so we’ll see how it goes.

I make a cake yesterday. It looks like crap but it was fine tasting. I’m not big into cakes because I’ve been focusing on bread but I’d like to improve on cakes.
(I made a weird icing so yeah, that part does not look good!)

Today’s bake… a lot went wrong, I was clumsy, I was in a lot of pain, and I burned my hand.
I did have one for lunch and it was good, despite not looking as good as the first batch.
I made these 120g each which is probably too large. I’ll try 100g next time. I also tried an overnight cold ferment, but probably used too much yeast.

I made a cake yesterday and it wasn't great, not that good really. It's okay I guess. The issue is that we've had two cakes from Sendik's this month and this one doesn't compare to those.
Also, I don't really make cakes that often. It's probably been a few years since I made a cake.
It also didn't help that I mis-measured when making the frosting and had to then try to make my own powdered sugar.
