I think this is Pyropyga decipiens, a tiny firefly in one of the lineages in which adults have evolutionarily lost the ability to flash. The larvae are still bioluminescent. #insects #beetles #fireflies #lightningbugs #lampyridae #nature

If you have an opportunity to visit a freshly-burned forest, look for pyrophilic beetles (e.g., certain species in Sericoda, Melanophila, Monochamus) and flies (Microsania).
