Sleep is physical maintenance, but solitude is emotional and cognitive “defragmentation” for me.

Nearly five inches of rain, a bookstore relocation, a cautionary tale about losing years of Facebook memories without warning, and a Texas cold case solved nearly 40 years later.
This week, I reflect on digital permanence, wrongful convictions, and a rare case where justice eventually found its way to the right person.

What should a person do when they are typing up a Mastodon thread, and it's already almost 400 words before you've started to wrap it up? I estimate this will be over 5 posts.
I need a blog. I doubt I will get any readers or subscribers, but at least I can use it as a journal. Hopefully my Fediverse followers would open a link with a good enough teaser.
Followers, what are you doing when you want to post something long?

RE: #blogging and
For years, whenever I'd share links to my Wordpress posts on social media the preview image would be seemingly pulled at random, usually ignoring the first image. Finally fixed it yesterday by installing a plugin called "Open Graph and Twitter Card Tags", then checking the box that says,"First image from the post/page content" in the settings. I'm sure there are better ways to fix but it worked for me. Sharing in case anyone still blogs and has the same problem. #wordpress #blog #blogging https://wordpress.org/plugins/wonderm00ns-simple-facebook-open-graph-tags/
Feeling the urge to do more #blogging and less social stuff. Many options, but not so easy for a low-brow guy.
Sometimes it’s truly amazing how things come full circle when you have children. It’s as if time folds in on itself and a distant past overlaps with the present at this exact moment.
