The big #sunspots once more today, during another #Bochum (Germany) #sunset: see https://bsky.app/profile/cosmos4u.bsky.social/post/3mphd34hrsk26 for two earlier and two later timesteps. Whole sequence there covering 3 minutes and 20 seconds ... about the duration of a good total solar eclipse. ;-)

In #Bochum wurde zur vorletzten Wahl eine Bouleanlage gebaut, aber nicht mehr gepflegt.
Bürgerantrag: einen Pflegeplan erstellen und die erforderlichen Mittel bereitzustellen. Begründet wird dies mit dem Bewuchs der Anlage, der deren Nutzung erheblich einschränkt oder zeitweise unmöglich macht.
Verwaltung: Kosten 1.600 € jährlich. Diese zusätzlichen Finanzmittel zur Unterhaltung der Bouleanlage stehen nicht zur Verfügung.

Turns out the #Jupiter apparition is swiftly coming to an end: from #Bochum I couldn't even see it naked-eye anymore this evening, while in this 'blind' photograph it is faintly visible in the lower right just where the haze begins. #Venus is now the only obvious planet in the evening.

After missing three #sunsets in #Bochum, here is today's - with THREE #sunspot groups on the disk now: top left to bottom right they are 4492, 4493 (which grew rapidly; see https://nitter.net/Bermani22/status/2079227596554809584) and 4489. Watch the last two disappear in later timesteps in https://bsky.app/profile/cosmos4u.bsky.social/post/3mr45ljgazc2e (where 4493 is misidentifed - because of https://spaceweather.com/images2026/20jul26/hmi1898.gif - as 4491).

The planet #Venus and the #Moon Thursday evening over #Bochum - the 8% lit Moon was already very evident to the eye.

Here we go again ... another #Bochum #sunset today, and the three #sunspot groups (1)4515, 13 and 17 - https://www.facebook.com/groups/seestar/posts/1065357899609825/ - conveniently placed in the clear strip.

Against all odds another pretty clear #sunset in #Bochum Tuesday - and now three #sunspot groups are evident near the disk's center, from the left (1)4515, 13 and 17: https://spaceweather.com/images2026/25aug26/hmi1898.gif

Third #Bochum #sunset in a row, on 24 August, now perfectly clear - the Sun right *on* the horizon was way too bright to look at - and with obvious #sunspots: according to https://spaceweather.com/images2026/24aug26/hmi1898.gif these are the activity regions (1)4513 and 4517.

Another #Bochum (Germany) #sunset today - and numerous times a tiny #GreenSegment separated from the disk: here are two pictures each of two such cases.
