@… I was trying to do exactly that yesterday and it didn’t get it to work in all browsers, and then I just decided against it in the moment to make it consistent across browsers. I don’t think I’ve fully decided yet one way or the other but I kind of like the friction that this imposes, because it lets people think more on what is actually going on.

While historically effective, prior methods fail to generalize to modern web environments. Als je een AI browser gebruikt zoals die van OpenAI, die met je meeleest en alles onthoudt, is er dan sprake van scrapen? 🤔 En als dit geen scrapen is, dan lijkt me het handhaven van een scrapingsverbod voor AI moeilijk worden. Gebruikers zullen in de nabije toekomst hun browser namelijk vragen op de achtergrond wat "browse werk" voor hun te doen.

AI-browsers zoals Atlas van OpenAI en Comet van Perplexity kunnen op sites om paywalls heen van sites die AI-scraping verbieden. Omdat het lijkt op verkeer van mensen, blokkeren de sites de browsers niet.
