Members of #Codeberg decided to ban repositories that uses #ai:
"You must not share projects that mostly consist of code written by "generative AI"-tools [...]. Such projects having an unclear copyright status [...] and furthermore have little safeguards to ensure that they do not include h…

I am not surprised by #Codeberg's ToU update. I can respect their decision given that they are just a very small not for profit association. I might even play around with setting up a #Forgejo instance as a result.
EDIT: Codeberg e.V. is not a company, but rather a not for profit association. My …

Zur #Codeberg-Outage: Offenbar ist auch deren Mastodon-Instanz betroffen: status.anoxinon.de/status/anox
- weshalb man wohl nicht von ihnen hier auf Mastodon hört.

#Codeberg had a 7 hour outage yesterday. Even before that pushes to and pulls from my repos hosted there were often painfully slow. I don’t love the idea of going back to Github, but I don’t want to self host, and I am not aware of a git hosting provider that meets my needs:
• <= $60 per year (I can fudge this a bit for a great fit)
• unlimited private repos allowed
• my code is …

All my projects are now fully migrated to Codeberg, therefore this morning I could finally, and happily delete my Gitlab account.

And this "entitled prospective user" attitude. "I was planning on moving my projects to #Codeberg, but now I won't". Oh, how sad that you won't give them the benefit of using their free services (okay, I'm sure you were going to donate).
Reminds me of the "entitled prospective contributor" attitude in #Gentoo. "You never heard from me before, but I don't like this new policy. There are dozens of new contributors with me, just around the corner, and now we won't be able to contribute." (This was about the copyright policy, so they could have contributed noncontroversially for a long time, yet they never did.)

Anyone knows the state of federation/ForgeFed in Forgejo rn?
I want to migrate away from github, maybe to a selfhosted Forgejo, maybe to git.gay, maybe to codeberg and I wanted to be able to star/PR/issue repos in other forges. Not that I do anything relevant, but I wanted to be able to receive stars/PRs/issues in my stuff too even if I decided to self host!

I'm thinking of creating a small (they always start small) tool to help submitting pull requests via #AGit to the #Codeberg mirrors of #Gentoo repositories.
Guess how I'm going to call it.
(I'm sorry for spoiling it on IRC already.)
