Possibly horrible political idea I just had: double-blind congressional elections. After an election, neither the electorate nor the candidates are told the winner, so both go to Congress as if they were the winner. The only entity that knows the actual winner is the computer that tabulates the votes that their chamber of congress holds, so then everyone has to figure out the result of their respective elections by the results of congressional votes.

Trump on Tuesday canceled a meeting with Democratic congressional leaders to avoid a shutdown over government funding, arguing it could not “possibly be productive”.

The reversal leaves the two parties in Washington without a solution to keep the government open past Sept. 30,
when the current fiscal year ends and funding runs out.
The meeting scheduled for Thursday was intended to negotiate a path forward.

I am quite sick and tired of the D-party doing little more than useless posturing (such as writing letters to El Cheeto) or simply asking for money. (The purpose of that money is almost never sufficiently described, if the purpose is described at all.)
So it is good to hear that new candidates are arising who will challenge the fuddy-duddy-crats of the D-party. (My own Congress Critter included.)
