The day wasn't great. But I managed to motivate myself to get on the bike for an afternoon ride. And this was - just - so - good.
I almost did a more mountainous route but I opted for speed. I'm happy with my choice.

Started as a "cozy afternoon MTB #cycling loop" and ended with apersonal record over 40km 🤔
Fun fact: the whole loop was exactly 40.01km long. But it was a good ride and I feel so much better now.

A couple of pics from a little bike packing trip around Dorset over the weekend. We took the train to Upwey (just outside Weymouth) and cycled 110km off road across Ridges, Bridle Paths and old Roman Roads back to Poole

So we got our jackets, did our errands with our little bike trailer - and were lucky because it didn't even rain 💪
✅ Saved fuel again
✅ Physical activity
✅ Faster way to detach from work
✅ Saw a couple of cats

Recently while unpacking our bikes, two elder guys unpacked their MTBs next to us (also no ebikes).
One looked at the bikes "Nobody’s told you about e-bikes yet either, right?"
I looked at the bikes, pointed to my thighs.
"I'm driving a double cylinder oat motor."
He laughed and we parted - Hours later they passed us up hills and from behind I heard "Ah, the double cylinder oat-motor!" 😀

Thanks to the #hiking community here, we now (almost) always have a water filter with us and we hardly dehydrated on our #cycling tours since.
I can barely say how good it feels to return without being terrible thirsty. Next issue I really need to solve is eating regularly and enough. Even though I had enough cereal bars with me, I more than once noticed hunger biting my stomach - and with this, a considerable drop of my physical performance.
But it was a lot of fun and joy nonetheless.

Now this was a nice loop from #Rosenheim to #wasserburg and back along the #inn.
Perfectly reachable by train to transport the bikes so we didn't even need the car.

Usually we would have gone to Rosenheim by car, but today we tried rail & cycle and went there by train. Went pretty well, also with the bikes!
I should really use my chest strap for the camera, so that I can also record in cities or when I need both hands at the handlebar.

Last day of vacation is #cycling day.
Our legs start to demand a vacation 😀

Been shopping again with our little trailer.
I'm proud to say that we really do the majority of our weekly shoppings by bike now.
and it doesn't feel like we "sacrifice" anything. In contrary: having the activity before and after shopping feels like a GAIN compared to doing it by car. We are driving side roads, see a different neighborhood, in the meantime we know the places of 3-4 cats that we see repeatedly... Car drivers are nice as well.

Today we cycled the M-Wasserweg from #Gmund to #Munich .
We went to Gmund by train and had a wondeful ~70km cycling route along the river #Mangfall , through or along a couple of villages, through forests - and finally the last part along the river #Isar to Munich.
The whole ride took us ~5h including all stops and it was a real joy to do it. Next time, I should just eat more .. as usual. And - no car needed again.
Back home from Munich again with the #BayerischeRegioBahn .

We finally cycled a route that we wanted to redo since ages. We just had such a great time. There was one very steep and rough section where I fell a bit, but nothing serious.
It was a little adventure and an absolutely gorgeous start of our vacation.
We also met two elder guys a couple of times and had a nice chat each time. It's just cool to meet some friendly folks.
Unfortunately, I didn't feel like filming. Sorry.
