Recorded in May 1990 at New York's Irving Plaza. Close to, or even before the release of the single.

Couple of days ago, I sat in on an intro class of "yakshagaana", a #dance #music #art form popular on the west coast of South #India. This was at a #summer #camp in #Udupi.
The chalkboard shows a basic 7 beats rhythm ("thaala") and melody ("raaga").The text is written in #Kannada.
My first time #learning this material. Was fun.
