Happy Gotcha Day to Izzy! She came to live with us on July 11, 2020, and it’s been six years of sweetness and love. She was too scared to come out of her crate when we picked her up from the rescue van and too scared to walk up the front steps to our house. Now she is the sweetest dog and completely comfortable in our house. (Yes, the bangs are new. She’s on a medication that causes some dogs to grow more hair.)

We had family visiting for a few days last week, including a one year old boy who is very fond of dogs. Izzy is a cautious rescue dog, but she warmed up to the toddler. After about two days, the toddler would walk up to Izzy and bend over so his face was close to Izzy and she would give him a kiss. When they left after four days, I think Izzy was sad to see him go. #DogsofMastodon
