On March 9th I’m helping launch AI Foundations for Educators, a 5-week online course that goes beyond workshop-level knowledge to guide teachers and school staff in developing a personalized framework for adapting classrooms to AI.
It’s a pilot module for a planned online certificate on generative AI; would count as credit toward that graduate credential. Open to anyone with a BA.
Like, I know, I •know• those little kids know all about what’s going on, I know they’re afraid, I’m sure some of them have family members who’ve already been taken and many more who are in danger…
…and here’s this teacher, this whole school community, who’ve somehow managed to make it so that they can still be having a day at school, still getting to just be kids for a little while.

What sort of protection would students, parents, and educators •want•? What should we demand?

The remote option is great, but it’s not actually an answer to the school safety question. I would like to know:
What •action• are the schools, the city, and the state of MN taking to directly protect students? Who is defending our students and our educators? Is that part of this NG deployment — or is the community on their own?
