Here's a close-up of a male Eurytoma. It's the most common chalcid species emerging from my cache of beetle-infested redbud seeds. #inaturalist #eurytoma #wasps inaturalist.org/observations/3

Here's a different male showing off his unfurled antennal setae, chemically tuned to pick up pheromones from females. #wasps #eurytoma #chalcidoidea #antennae

Newly-ecolosed male chalcid wasp (Eurytoma sp.) using its forelegs to remove the pupal sheath from one of its antennae. The long setae on each flagellomere will fluff up to give the antennae a bottle-brush look. From eastern redbud seeds. #wasp #chalcidoidea #hymenoptera #eurytoma #insects #nature #entomology #macro
