Amongst the many overt protests, there are a few subtle USA protests happening in Canada... and there is one subtle one in particular, or at least it feels that way, at its most important and influential fast food chain.
Tim Hortons.
Have you noticed?
Have you seen the commemorative timbits, the buckets and cups?
There are flags for Team Canada, Mexico, Italy, France, Brazil….
no USA flags. none..
It makes me smile.
The Tim Hortons corporation may not be a fully “Canadian” company (RBI is headquartered in Toronto and Florida, and 1/3 owned by Brazil's 3G), but they are "on the ball" enough to understand the Canadian zeitgeist.
USA? You don't exist.
