We came home relatively late, but as the forecast says it will be -28°C by morning, I set fire to the fireplace anyway. At 23:59 surface of the heat-retaining fireplace has just started to get warm.
just delighted to be back in albuquerque after a few years away for this year's grateful dead scholars' caucus at SWPACA, but already missing the hotel blue & its weird but undeniably cozy heat-optional electric fireplaces.

Our sunroom is well insulated but unheated. Normal temperature is around 17°C, unless we turn on the gas fireplace when we are sitting back there. The strategic placement of the bird feeder right outside his window doesn't hurt.
