Zinnias are another favorite of mine that I'm stocking up on, the best thing about these is they come in such a wide range of colors and gradients of color

Zinnia flower is a great big flattened globe of petals ranging from orange-red at the very top to just plain orange at the bottom, a bit of a damaged yellow flower can be seen underneath it, behind it all are patches of green (I think) foliage and brown (I think) earth.

Purple coneflowers are everywhere in the mid-summer; I caught these on July 17th -- I took enough pictures of them that I'll still have some to show all winter! One of their many virtues is being native to North America
