Super busy week, but here's some #FootpathFriday for you (from our amazing sunset solstice hike last Saturday), along a ridge which is part of the DE/AT borderline... 😍

I just read about #FootpathFriday and thought this photo from my last blogpost could fit as well.

While I'm starting to getting into the photos from our holidays, I just saw that it's #FootpathFriday !
This one is a really nice path to walk - when the weather is a bit more stable than it was during our visit two years ago. But I learned a couple of lessons that day 😄

No footpath to be seen here, but a short impression from near the goal of our morning hike today, back down before more mountain bikers, hikers and horseflies arrived, then followed by a good day's work until late...

da hab ich doch auch mal einen Foto-Tröt zum #footpathfriday

Blick vom Wieserhörndl oberhalb der Spielbergalm in den Tennengau mit bewaldeten Bergen und Almen und etwas höheren Bergen bis knapp 2000 m im Hintergrund. Blauer Himmel mit wenigen Schönwetterwolken. Im Vordergrund sieht man ein Stück des Fußpfads zum Gipfel.

Short 18second, 270° video panorama of a beautiful large & deep alpine valley from around 800m above. The ground drops off steeply directly next to the narrow path (already on a slope itself). The mountains on the other side are up to ~2700m above sea level and ~1600m above the valley floor with green & rocky slopes, forest in the lower sections. Navigating the herd.
(There were 170 highland cattle, sometimes just a few inches away... quite a few blocking the path with their calves and feeling agitated so we had to navigate/bypass through the talus fields higher up, giving these beauties more space...)

Out & about in the Bernina Range, on our way to the Labyrinth, surrounded by majestic 4000ers (meters)... A dream! 😍
(#ThrowbackThursday, preemptive #FootpathFriday and my personal hiking highlight of 2024)

A glacier side moraine with an almost imperceptible path on its ridge is leading into a sea of ice, rocks and snow in the not so far distance. The massive glacier is just a few dozen meters below from where the picture was taken. It flows & drops down from the peaks in the back (all ~4000m and around 1300m higher up for my position), forming a maze of large seracs on the way. Sunny day with blue sky and some wispy clouds.

Path of reflection
