Germany escape into HT level with an ascendant Spain. Berger with some fine saves, now having prevented just under 1 goal (xG faced 0.96)
This game will not make it to penalties. If Spain score, it's over. If Germany score first, it's more of the same.

Wow! The tightest of angles beats Berger near side and looks to be the winner.
It must be said that the German back line was not well organized after the turnover and because they're gassed, they kept Bonmati onside and allowed the turn. Fatigue, surely.

Spain were the better side and deservedly advance to the final. They just had more of everything, able to bring on players and punish a fatigued and thin Germany.
But Germany didn't make it easy. They were outstanding defensively and had a puncher's chance on several counters that they were unable to capitalize on.
Berger was fantastic, preventing 1.23 goals. But one mistake cost Germany dearly. Cruel sport, sometimes.
