Just merged the go-based branch of #convos (web based irc client) to main, planning to do a stable release in a week or two. Other than a total rewrite of the backend from #perl to #go, the main interesting features are oidc SSO and proper webpush notifications working on android and ios. If you want to test the new release, the alpha images are now built using go https://github.com/convos-chat/convos/pkgs/container/convos - the svelte frontend remains more or less unchanged, will probably be upgraded to a more recent svelte and retouched for v10

#golang It's a minor thing, but I am virtually certain that Renee French (artist who did the original Go Gophers) is not a fan of AI-generated Go Gopher images. That horse might be out of the barn, but so far, I have not used AI for any images except tests of the AI itself, so, not quite everyone is doing it.

Been playing with #gokrazy this weekend, testing it out as a base for a container os idea I'm playing with. As part of that I've made it run with podman 5, and also implemented a pure go shim for the nft command that's sufficient for netavark to create pod forwards and such https://code.bas.es/marcus/nft-shim - Not sure if strictly necessary as I was able to build static binaries for nft using nixpkgs pkgsStatic target, but was a fun weekend project to hack on anyways. I quite like the idea behind gokrazy.
