I spent the last two days hiking with @… across the Bogong high plains from Cope Hut to the Fainters. Day 1 started with perfect weather as we followed the Australian Alps walking track for the first 10km. #hiking

This afternoon, fulfilling a Mother’s Day request a day early, the family hiked the Cascades in Pembroke, VA. The trail transits up Little Stony Creek to this fantastic set of falls. We had the fortunate timing of being there not long after heavy rains. Perfect weather for it too.

Bin heute endlich wieder mal auf einen Berg gekommen.
Vom #Präbichl über den Knappensteig zur Leobner Hütte, von dort dann weiter zur Vordernberger Griesmauer. Aufstieg ist bereits großteils schneefrei möglich.

I'm just SOOOO happy that I was out and about last weekend. Today it's rainy and cold and the snow line dropped again. It could indeed be that this photo would now be covered in snow.
But last week, it was just a nice walk up there.

At this point I was already on my way back from the mountain. Next stop was this hut - from there on just some more walk with less elevation back to the car.
on the whole way back ... I think I just met one more person. Besieds that ... all silence and a lot of white.

One more photo from the trail that I posted about recently. The blooming heather always make sme smile. Especially when there aren't too many flowers around.
In such spost I'm always traying a bit what looks more interesting: a great vista, a plain trail shot, the heather in the foreground or a blurred foreground.
The advantage is: I always have little rests along the way :)

Just a little one and a half hour walk nearby before it was supposed to be raining (and rugby starts).
It was a nice walk and good to be out. Strangely, my old GPS device refused to get a location despite having lots of satellites. Just 10min before coming back (after a couple of restarts and taking the batteries out and back in) it worked.
Fortunately, I only had it with me to test if my heart rate monitor also connects to it.
