Guess who massed up keepass databases
Unclear to me why no one ever mentions Strongbox in #PasswordManager reviews. It is a perfectly fine PM for macOS/iOS/iPadOS that has a rich set of sync options, most of which don't involve any 2nd/3rd party storage. It stores its databases in KeePass2.x (kdbx v4) format, so it is data-compatible with the many variations of KeePass.
(I use it with SSH/SCP sync, so as long as I’m at…
1. Be unhappy that #Element doesn't support multiple accounts.
2. Be unhappy that they've made a new #ElementX that doesn't work with your main account.
3. Realize that you can use both programs to support your main and backup accounts simultaneously.
4. Realize you don't have your backup account password in KeepassDX.
5. Try to figure out which email address you used.
6. It finally works.
7. Realize that you can't get the room address from Element when the server is down.

@… hey, need a little help. I recently created a accounts on fedi.absturztau.be @…. I massed up my keepass databases and lost access to passwords. I haven't logged in to
AFAIK the work on native messaging for flatpaks (and snaps) is done so that KeePassXC and KeePassXC Browser could finally talk to each other again. But I could not find out what's still missing. Does my OS need an update of the xdg portals? Do the browser vendors need to support the portal? Currently, it's Zen and Vivaldi which are sandboxed. Or is it the browser extension or KeePassXC itself?

The #KeepassXC discussion about GenAI coding tool use seems a bit too simplistic at the moment.
There is room for nuance:
1. Yes, LLM based code generators consume insane amounts of electricity and generate collateral environment damage. That's bad, and we should talk much more about energy efficiency and reasonable use of resources.
2. Yes, LLMs generate a lot of bad o…
@… OneKeePass and Secrets are reasonable Linux alternatives. I'm not wild about them, but I use Keepassium on my phone and would like to have an app on my Linux PC that uses the same format.
@… I use OneKeepass on my Linux PC, Keepass in Windows 11 (in a VM), and Keepassium on iOS. I sync the database to a cloud drive. I don't use Android, so can't tell you about that.
