#Drawiny — #NoweDrezdenko again today. Once again, another EMU was attached to us in Krzyż but it was managed in 10 minutes — nevertheless, I don't recommend travelling on Sundays.

Technically, it's just a teeny tiny piece of #LakeOntario. When it is released, it could be a big dye tracer experiment for Lake currents 🤓. #Toronto #Ontario

Good morning friends 🙋
Yesterday we did a walk between the rain phases. It didn't particularly go as planned as the path was too wet in one place.
But I found a cool #tree! I guess I'll go back to the spot later some time. I liked how the tree looks like embracing. Yet the sky was too bright. This could be better.

In the foreground, a cluster of maple trees stands tall, their vibrant green leaves rustling in the gentle breeze. A majestic tree stands tall in a lush green forest, its trunk covered in a thick layer of vibrant green moss. The moss adds a sense of age and character to the tree, creating a beautiful contrast against the dark grey bark. #Szczecinek. A town that's not easily reachable via railways but totally worth it. #Lake Trzesiecko is surrounded by paths, with many pedestrian and bike tracks.
Most of the east and north-east shore is covered by city park with a promenade. You can easily notice where it ends, since you are immediately surrounded by a cloud of mosquitoes. There's also a forest to the north-east where you can find the remains of Wał Pomorski fortifications. It's a place where you can run, since otherwise mosquitoes will bite you hard. To the east of it, there's a block of houses named after generals, with long names including their pseudonyms.
Curious enough, there are multiple dog parks along the way. Individuals parks are dedicated e.g. to "aggressive dogs" or "large dogs". There is also a lot of posters asking people to adopt dogs from the animal shelter. The shore features a lot of willows and other trees leaning above the water. There are also some piers, apparently dedicated to the "water tram".
The west shore is covered by houses — it's a place to walk around a road in the sun and forget about mosquitoes for a while. The Brzegowa street features a wooden bridge over a beautiful canal (see the second photo). The whole south shore is covered by forest. In the middle of it, there's a beach called Mysia Wyspa (= mouse island). There are some more fortifications in the forest, and of course mosquitoes.
You can also walk to the nearby Lake Wilczkowo. However, I only had enough time to walk through the short path along the north-east shore that's blocked by fell trees and full of mosquitoes.
The first photograph is from the north-east shore of Lake Trzesiecko. The second one is the aforementioned canal. Third is from a path along the lake, north of a bridge on Strumień Mulisty (= muddy stream). The fourth is from a pier — "Wieża Bismarcka" (= Bismarck's Tower) stop.
And no, I haven't seen much of the town.

Good Morning #Canada
It might surprise you that Canada has the top 3 bluest lakes in the world, with #1 Lake Ontario and #2 Lake Superior. The ranking is based on a rock solid analysis by world-renowned scientists at gambling site CanadaCasino, using an exhaustive study of 0.00008% of the planet's 100 million lakes. Hey... it's on the internet so it must be true.

#Chociwel. A town over a lake, and I don't think there's much more to say. The road around the lake is a bit muddy but walkable (you just have to be careful not to stray from the road marked on OSM). Mosquitoes were present as well.
It's reachable via 5 AM set of trains from Poznań (with leg-stretching in Krzyż and Stargard), 9 AM there. Then a quick round round the lake, 10.13 return train, short change in Stargard and back in Poznań at 1 PM.

That I should live to see the crystal clear lakes turned green by greed... 🤬
#LakeDistrict, more evidence that the #sewage discharge(s) ruining the UK's beaches & seawaters, are having similar impact inland - Lake #Windermere is going green as semi-treated sewage flows into the lake
Yet more proof that the only people who gained from water privatisation were the investors

Today, I have some photos from #GórkiNoteckie, that I've been meaning to publish for over a month now.
The track is a path east of Santoczna #river, in Buki Zdroiskie im. prof. Lucjana Agapowa Reserve (two first photos), then Wełminko #Lake (third photo) and Lake Duże Wełmino (fourth photo). Linguistic curiosity: "Wełminko" is a diminutive of "Wełmino", and "duże" means "large". Both lakes feature a waterside path on the east shore, though it's a bit overgrown (back then, with wet grass that I didn't have the right shoes for) on the bit between the lakes. The road on the western side goes a little away from the lake, so it's not as scenic.

Today photos from my recent #hiking over the north-west part of #Szczecin.
I've started at Jasne Błonia plaza. Its sides feature rows of plane trees. Next, Jan Kasprowicz Park, and on the other side of the road, dendrological garden. Next, Różanka (= rose garden) park and then Syrenie Stawy (= mermaid ponds), followed by Arkona Forest.
I've first went north-west, passing by Goplana #Lake, Wędkarski (= fishing) Pond (I've taken the mallard photo there), and Głębokie (= deep) Lake (second and third photos are from its eastern shore). Next, I went east over Siedmiu Młynów (= 7 mills) way. And then, towards Arkona hill, on top of which there are magnificent #ruins of Quistorp Tower (the fourth photo is from its second floor).
I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Szczecin, with mgorny quality mark. If you catch a local train towards Krzyż from Poznań at 5 AM, and then grab Regio towards Szczecin there, you can reach the main station at 8.30.

Today's #hiking was from #Jastrzębsko Stare (Jastrzębsko station) to Stara #Tuchorza (Tuchorza station).
First, I went southeast, through hills near Jastrzębsko, next to towns of Grubsko and Szarki. Afterwards, I went south, using the east shore of #wetlands and of the Kuźnickie #Lake. At this point, I should note that due to the spills, it's impossible to follow the shore from the north. Instead, you may use the road marked on OSM to get to the central point of the east shore, and follow the shore south from there. Then further south through more hills, and turn west towards Tuchorza.
