X-Ray spectral and temporal properties of LMXB 4U 1608-52- observed with AstroSat and NICER
We report results from a detailed study of the neutron star X-ray binary, 4U 1608-52 using observations with {\it AstroSat} (LAXPC/SXT) and {\it NICER} during its 2016 and 2020 outbursts. The 0.7--20.0 keV spectra could be well described with the disk blackbody and thermal Comptonization model. Here we present two failed prominence eruptions on 26 October 2022 and explore their connections. Soft contributions to the thermal Higgs width across an electroweak phase transition
We estimate the equilibration rate of a nearly homogeneous Higgs field, displaced from its ground state during the onset of an electroweak phase transition. The computation is carried out with Hard Thermal Loop resummed perturbation theory, and a significant part of the result originates from Bose-enhanced $t$-channel $2\leftrightarrow 2$ scatterings.
