Just upgraded to MacOS 26.1 on a computer w/ an external 1920x1200 monitor and it looks TERRIBLE. The fonts in the official apps (Messages, etc) look grody with no way to change apparently. The whole interface is like an sophomore attempt w/ the over-rounded edges. So gross & amateurish #macos

I've been eagerly updating #macOS since 10.4 Tiger (which required buying a physical box of DVDs!) running betas whenever possible. Until Tahoe. I haven't touched it.
Apple has lost taste.

The MacBookPro disaster is complete, more or less.
The problem: after installing macos 26.0.1 the MBP failed to reboot successfully. It kept going to the apple logo and the progress bar stopped, and eventually the mac went to Recovery Mode.
Tried:
1. re-install macos Tahoe - no luck.
2. reset NVRAM
3. reset SMC
4. re-install from Time Machine backup on NAS. Took 44 hours.
