phpc.social is now running Mastodon 4.5.0, released a little over three days ago. Thanks for your patience on this upgrade, which went a fair bit smoother thn the last non-patch-release bump. Have fun quoting folks! #mastoadmin

phpc.social is now running on Mastodon 4.5.3, released...less than ten minutes ago :). Got lucky with being at a stopping point when the update notification came across.

That was slightly more drama updating to Mastodon v4.5.0 than I wanted.
The OS restarted while the database migration was in progress so I had to restore the database from backups.
Except this took some time because of the size of the database and the fact that the backup software I have for the #PostgreSQL server needs to rewrite the entire database to restore older versions.

I'm running the latest code of the glitch-social Mastodon fork but don't seem to have the ability to quote-toot yet. Is there a config setting I need to enable?

Seit der Version 4.5.0 von #Mastodon braucht mein Server deutlich mehr Traffic. Größenordnung etwa doppelt so viel. Haben andere #Mastoadmin das auch beobachtet?

So.... anyone off the top of your head know the feasibility of migrating a Mastodon instance to a new domain name?
Is it generally better etiquette to run the 3-month decom rule and spin up a new clean instance, or do a DNS redirect?

ElasticSearch is back up at phpc.social, now with 1024MB of JVM heap space as lack of heap space was the issue. Full text search is re-indexing now in the background and will likely take all day to finish.

We're aware of full text search issues due to ElasticSearch being cranky and will post another update when that's fixed.

phpc.social is now running Mastodon v4.4.4. Had to do a `yarn install` to get assets to compile, but other than that an uneventful upgrade ~5.3 hours after the release.
