It has been pointed out that lots of the people involved in the US's Jan 6th insurrection were affluent non-professional business owners, in real estate, car sales etc. Wealthy but not typically college educated.
I see a big parallel with the Irish fuel protests: agri-contractors and road-hauliers.

Civil disobedience is an important political tool. But it doesn't mean that you're not breaking the law, simply that you are breaking the law to make a point.
So a nice softly-softly way of dealing with the tractor/truck protest would be to start issuing tickets for every road traffic offence. Like parking on a motorway or in a junction.
