Remember the request I made to the City of Milwaukee to sweep/clean the bike lanes on Hampton Avenue? Here's the reply...
DPW: THE CITY OF MILWAUKEE DOESN'T SWEEP THAT FAR WEST ON HAMPTON AVE. THE COUNTY AND THE CEMENT COMPANY TAKES CARE OF THE BRIDGE AND SWEEPING OF THE ROCKS. SUPV RPW
So I guess I contact Riv/Crete or Milwaukee county now...

How did I get here?

I’m not saying I’m the first person to ride the entire length of the new protected bike lane on Lisbon but there’s a good chance I am… (I had to carry my bike across a dozen gaps because it’s not all connected yet!)

I just submitted my first request to the city to clean up a bike lane. I chose "Miscellaneous Street Maintenance" because I could not find anything that was a better fit.

Besides the bruised bananas I am chuffed at today's ride to the store and general adventure ride around town, going places I didn't think I could get to by bike. I rode about 13 miles and a little over an hour. The ebike is great for outrunning traffic or getting up those nasty hills. I still go really slow (PAS 1 or turned off) when on the crowded Oak Leaf Trail.

We biked next to a section of the Menomonee River that has a railway bridge over it and you can see the debris left from the flood back in August. Yes, the river was as high as the bridge!

This is every route I've take to/from work on my bike in the past three months...
Sometimes I make an effort to find roads I have not biked down and then try to hit them up so I can get more red lines on the map.

I did nearly the whole commute in PAS 1 today, just went to PAS 3 for the bad stretch on Hampton. It was a bit more of a workout, and that was fine. Seemed like a good day for it.
I also did 5 miles on the acoustic bike this morning for a quick run to the grocery store to get milk for a recipe my partner is making for their department today.

I did a 21 mile bike ride today. Along the way I saw a turkey, found a good pair of scissors, discovered Hidden Lake, and stopped to see Mama Rosa at Firefly Grove Park in Wauwatosa.

Pour one out for Pizza Man in Wauwatosa... they are closing next week so we're getting lunch from them today. Good for us, bad for them. (The Milwaukee location is still open.)

People complain about the roads but don't do anything about it... well, some of us do.
I've been avoiding these two potholes on my ride home for weeks now, got fed up, finally stopped to report them to the city last week and they just got filled...
In four days. The city street crew filled them in less than a week. Hell Yeah.
(The first photo is what I submitted, second is from the road crew after repairs.)

Today’s ride for Scrappy Hour was 7 miles out and then 7 miles back! The hills killed me. 😢
