Indian Peaks Range behind Brainard Lake. Along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. A rock-strewn sandy beach in front of a deep-blue lake with white cap waves in a stiff breeze. The far shore is backed by (probably) Ponderosa pine trees, behind which is a row of snowy mountain tops. Above all is a dark blue sky with white clouds. August 2013.

#mountainMonday ! Unfortunately not a recent photo but one that's quite a while ago. Before my wife had 2 knee issues. But maybe we can go there again soon.

View of a large glaciated mountain massif rising up behind a final step of alpine forest beyond which only rock & ice remains. Only the upper third near the peaks is still covered in full ice, deep seracs visible in some parts. Numerous small waterfalls in the rock below and on the side slopes.
