If #Musk 🏴☠️ were a guy from the lower middle class with an average income and net worth, he would have been committed to a psychiatric ward long ago.
But since he is the richest person in the world (which doesn't really mean much, but enough to cause damage), even a sociopath like Musk is tolerated—even though he has already caused enormous damage and that is probably not the end of it.

I was just thinking about how the fact that #Musk named his AI "Grok" is evidence that he "reads sci-fi" in the same way he "plays video games." Like, he claims to do it but when it comes time to show the evidence it's clear he does not actually "grok" it.
Like... To grok something is to have a layer deeper than simply knowledge, but mathematically encoding statistical relationships between words is pretty obviously not even understanding much less qualifying as "groking" it. In the book, the ability to grok something is also the ability to annihilate that thing with a thought. Just pretending that an LLM actually *was* something that could become AGI (which it's not), this name would imply the AI would have the power to annihilate reality. That's bad. That's a bad name for an AI.
And why would a greedy fascist name something of his after something an anarchist communist space Jesus taught to the hippie cult he started? There are so many layers of facepalm to this. It's some kind of php-esque fractal of incompetence.
Like, there's no reason to talk about this but my brain does this to me sometimes and now it's your problem.

Now that Musk has offloaded Twitter and his AI experiments to SpaceX, he can be sure the government will bail it out when the AI bubble pops. The government's defense industry depends upon SpaceX for access to space.
This is probably the main reason for the "sale" transferring money from one of Musk's bank accounts to another of Musk's bank accounts.
The AI price bubble popping could have wiped out xAI and thus Twitter with it, but now it's cushioned against that by contracts with a government who can't afford to allow their only real space access to go bust.
So he can subsidize his failing AI business and his unprofitable media-manipulation efforts at Twitter with his government-protected failing exploding space-rocket project.
All protected by the lie which the media keep repeating uncritically that it makes any sense at all to have data centers in space.
What a great businessman.
