What is a #name? It is not me, but it is mine. It signifies me. It identifies me. Many cultures historically and presently allow, or even mandate, that individuals choose their name, often ritually, at mileposts in their lives. Maybe more than once, as need be. Maybe more than one name concurrently. But our govt doesn’t like it when trans folk, for instance, adopt a new name when their “circumstances”…

Speaking of name changes, J.D. Vance has changed his name several times. His name doesn’t match his birth certificate. Guess he can’t vote either.

Who am I kidding? Of course he can vote. Because he checks off all the boxes of privilege. And of course Kris Jenner can vote, because (if she actually votes at all, I dunno) she likely votes republican. MAGA must be really confused there, if they even think about it. What’s her passport say?

Obviously the people in charge will do whatever they can…

Related: "wipraja" is a man born to a wipra. That word is sometimes used as a name, often spelled "Wipraj" because English.
It grinds my gears when people pronounce that name "Wip Raj" meaning the king of wips, which is Brahma, the ancestor of all wise men; thereby reversing the role meant by the name wipraja. 😒
