A Large Marble #butterfly. May 2026

Closeup photo of a Large Marble butterfly, possibly Euchloe ausonides, perched on a flower having some lunch. The butterfly is mainly white, with an abstract pattern of green and black blotches on the underside of one wing, and black stippling on the topside of the other wing, giving it a “marbeled” appearance, and hence its name.
