Network Functions (NFs) improve the safety and efficiency of networks. Flows traversing NFs may need to be migrated to balance load, conserve energy, etc. When NFs are stateful, the information stored on the NF per flow must be migrated before the flows are migrated, to avoid problems of consistency. Hrmm, just finished setting up Immich on the homelab and it is pretty damned impressive so far. Got it saving the libraries to NFS, certs all setup, and up uploading all the photos. The iOS app is pretty solid as well. No issues so far, but we'll see how this goes. Also, that poor, poor VM... #homelab

OH! The #Nextcloud app, which I confess I never really explored until now, does /selective/ backups, so care must be taken which to enable! I'd misunderstood its intended purpose. Given a better file structure, it becomes a day-to-day sync across my devices, notes, photos, etc, but it means I no longer have a #KDE Dolphin panel to drop archive files; I can use the web interface, and ncp suggests I could have it fuse-mounted as NFS or SMB on per-user permissions, so that's next to explore…
