Prefabricated galvanised steel buildings were a popular solution for rapidly expanding churches in the late 19th and early 20th-century. The St Michael’s Road area of Northampton has two examples of repurposing and relocation, demonstrting how tin tabernacles lend themselves as recycled churches.
