Rachel Carson's book Silent Spring was published.
It handled the environmental harm caused by the pesticide DDT
and the disinformation spread by the chemical industry.
Carson managed to sway public opinion and even policy.

I recall the door man was a sketchy white supremacist redneck, who objected to letting in a person of color I came with.... The more things change, the more things do stay the same in this country.
