A friend brought over 4 HP mini-PCs and all of them had the battery holder ripped off the mainboard including the pad that attached to the negative-side of the battery. Not the most difficult of fixes, took longer to find a convenient ground and to make sure there wasn't anything crazy between the "negative" end and ground. Still, think it turned out pretty clean.
