Do you keep unwanted/unused #apps on your #phone solely because deleting them would rearrange icons on the home screen, defeating your muscle memory?

Why is it the case that we can't copy text anymore on the phone? You used to be able to hold and select to copy, but "hold" doesn't do anything now, half of the time. I think this mostly happens in apps, like Rightmove or Outlook. Is this just me? Is there a trick to make it good again?
