Four stages of a biomimetic drilling process are laid out side-to-side, the drill is long and vertically oriented, split into two halves along its length and has circular ribs around it. (1) neutral position (2) left bit penetrates, right bit retracts, both swing left (3) neutral position, (4) right bit penetrates, left bit retracts, both swing right
