Finally got some emulator stuff up and running on my (now-sidelined) #PinePhone running #PostmarketOS. Not that bad, just followed the wiki to install #RetroArch some cores, grabbed some ROMs online, and connected a Bluetooth controller following another wiki page. Definitely needed to pay close attention to RetroArch config settings and I still haven't figured out how to get overlays working. The Bluetooth connection was a bit spotty at first but after pairing and a restart it reconnected automatically with no command line stuff needed which was great.
Sadly, it seems like the phone isn't really powerful enough to run even GB ROMs smoothly, so it may not serve as a good gaming platform for the kids unless I can figure out settings tweaks that will get it working better.

If I had a phone with good specs and good support on pmOS it’d become my main right now

I tried to install it on a phone (samsung-a5y17lte) and a tablet (samsung-gtaxlwifi) without any desktop env. but on both devices it does not go beyond the "Starting..." screen which will freeze after some time.

Success ! Failed the first time but it works now. #postmarketos with #phosh on the pretty old Xiaomi A1 that I do not use anymore.
