On May 23, 1887, Canadian Pacific Railway Engine 374 became the first transcontinental passenger train to arrive to Vancouver. This event got the fanfare despite the arrival of a cross country train at Port Moody almost 10 months earlier. 150 passengers arrived in Vancouver and, given human nature, I would assume that years later over 2,500 people claimed they were on that historic trip...
