It might not seem like a huge thing, but it's time to fix the power distribution for my Raspberry Pi 4B servers. This should do a perfect job of distributing the 24V going to each one pretty well, and 1A fuses should work out perfectly for keeping the amount of fire to a minimum. #homelab #raspberryPi
Currently trying to install :nixos: #NixOS on a :raspberrypi: #RaspberryPi Zero. The poor thing with its 500MB RAM has a hard time during nixos-rebuild... 🥵
The old saying “A watched pot never boils”… this is how I feel right now reinstalling and upgrading a #RaspberryPI.
Something is wrong with archive.raspberrypi.org right now, slow as a wet weak to download anything. Had to get the image via Torrent, and apt-get is crawling. @…
Playing around with @… on the #raspberrypi using #Java.

Question about #SelfHost server apps on a single board pc (#RaspberryPi). Can I have #Tailscale and #Cloudflare
Say hello to Tilion!
After upgrading my devices to 4B, I've had two spare 3B #raspberrypi collecting dust for ~3 years now, and as nobody else I asked wanted them, I finally found a new use: A #cluster; firstly for personal experimentation (and who knows, maybe I'll even put…
Hmmm, anyone familiar with the internals of #Zabbix happen to know why the 7.0.0 repo doesn't support #RaspberryPi running #Debian 12 (bookworm)?
They hav…
Wild idea:
#ActivityPub over #tor.
Single-user instances for sure. Like hosted from your home on your own #raspberrypi.
What could one do with that?
Got the #RaspberryPi up and running for the first time in 19,882 days (sic). It just needed for power than the cable router's USB at least could provide. Anyway I've a test bed again.
Run your own #kubernetes cluster on #raspberrypi's they said, it will be fun they said. So now once every blue moon there is a leader change in the middle of a #terraform
How do people organise their micro-SD cards?
I've got about 7 or 8 with different OSes for #RaspberryPi, plus a few others that get used for occasional data storage & file transfer.
It's not like the old days with floppy disks that had a cover label large enough to write stuff on.
Maybe I need a cute little box to store them in, where each card can live in a labelled compartment, something like that.
Half the #homelab is down for essential maintenance (new rack part one) and hopefully the only person that will notice is me. Incredible really…

For Reasons™ I'm shopping around for Single Board Computers (#SBC). Curious to hear if anyone has any favorites besides the #RaspberryPi. Looking to run general purpose Linux distros, primarily in headless configuration.

Just to prove I can put my money where my mouth is, I've just downloaded RISCOS 5.30 and here it is running on my Pi 400

Upgraded the power to the Raspberry Pi servers...nowhere near as sketchy as before. Much easier to manage power, and very easy to add another Pi. #homelab #raspberryPi
Had fun this weekend working on a performance focussed proof of concept using Bunny in the #PHP #queue interop contracts. The first metrics are in using the #RabbitMQ cluster on my #Raspberrypi #Kubernetes home cluster. (Which isn't meant for high performance. Still pleased by these numbers.)
What in the actual heck is going on with chrooting into a mounted :raspberrypi: #RaspberryPiOS SD card rootfs on :nixos: #NixOS?
SOLVED: One also needs to bind-mount /nix in the target system:
> sudo mkdir /mnt/nix; sudo mount -o bind /nix /mnt/nix
The Reg (thanks @…) has a nice writeup of the latest incarnation of RISC OS. If you have a spare Raspberry Pi lying around (who am I kidding. Everyone has a spare Pi lying around!) it’s well worth having a play with this if you’re bored. I guarantee it’ll be unlike any other OS you’ve ever used.

Finally have the last three Raspberry Pi's installed and running. The primary and secondary servers took no time to get back online, and I basically just turned off the old VPN server and rebuilt it as it's a fairly simple process. Also, since the Pi's are using NVMe drives it makes things more than a bit snappy. #homelab
